Insight Vacation adds new Scandinavian and Eastern European Itineraries

New Europe itineraries for 2017 include: 
  • The 12-day Country Roads of Southern Scandinavia (from US $2,835 per person sharing), an off-the-beaten track discovery of Scandinavia’s southern mountains, fjords, rivers and vibrant cities. Starting in Oslo and finishing in Copenhagen, highlights include a visit to the market stalls of Bergen with a local expert, an island-hopping cruise through Norway’s dramatic West Coast fjords from Bergen to Stavanger and two nights in vibrant Aarhus, Europe’s Capital of Culture for 2017.
  • The 8-day Warsaw and the Baltic States (from US $1,463 per person sharing), which takes in Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia over eight days. Launched on the back of the continued popularity of Poland, this trip includes a tour of Warsaw with a local expert, who will reveal how well the city has been restored post-WWII, and a visit to the wonderful red-brick Gothic castle at Trakai, accessed via a wooden footbridge across an idyllic lake.
Insight guests can enjoy a unique collection of authentic Signature Experiences, a series of carefully selected and engaging encounters with artisans, chefs, storytellers and other local experts, hearing their stories and learning about their lives and the customs of the destination.

For the first time, in 2017 selected Premium Italian itineraries will enjoy a private after-hours dinner inside the Vatican Ethnological Museum with the museum’s curator for a VIP dinner. Other Signature Experiences include a new VIP visit to the Guinness factory in Dublin before the doors open to the public; a cruise with the captain on a traditional sailing barge, before lunch at an old olive mill in the Alentejo and hearing from one of the survivors of the Siege of Sarajevo in the War Tunnel Museum.
