IMG Worlds of Adventure Selects Best-in-Class Smart Theme Park Technology
IMG Worlds of Adventure, the world’s largest indoor theme park opened in Dubai on 31st August 2016, includes a selection of a myriad of state-of-the-art software and smart technology to build the innovative and interactive modern theme park. Choosing the best-in-class IT systems, from international blue chip companies, the park’s internal infrastructure focuses on interconnectivity and interoperable systems and - through the internet of things - has created a streamlined electronic system, ensuring the best possible user experience.
Over 20 companies were involved in providing the internal and external framework for IMG Worlds of Adventure including Bose, Avaya, Pelco and Cisco to build a robust infrastructure, with Microsoft supplying the Enterprise Resourcing Planning and Customer Relationship Management software, and many more to provide well-integrated solutions to run business processes in a paperless environment.
IMG Worlds of Adventure has chosen to implement a range of smart technology solutions to create a fully integrated theme park that uses intelligent technology to improve the quality of both the guest experience and the efficiency of the park. Through this, IMG Worlds of Adventure is supporting the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform Dubai into a ‘Smart City’.
The primary software partner selected to form the park’s end-to-end infrastructure is industry leader Avaya. Avaya’s electronic mainframe is what connects all systems, software and applications, powering the entire IMG Worlds of Adventure network, from operating the website to the power switches, from the ride turnstiles to the retail point of sale machines. As everything is linked, Avaya’s unified communication solution ensures a user-friendly experience, whilst simultaneously offering the most secure and reliable technology. This world-class system is the first to be used by a theme park in the GCC, when it comes to the Leisure industry.
One of the many highlights of the IMG Worlds of Adventure software system is its Wi-Fi network that can simultaneously host more than 25,000 mobile devices at one time.
To interconnect this framework, IMG Worlds of Adventure has chosen global experts Siemon to provide the cabling infrastructure. The high quality and high performance network cables integrate data and voice communications throughout the park, joining all electronic systems. These cables, which interweave IMG Worlds of Adventure’s electronic architecture, are specially shielded and jacketed, and are adaptable for new technology, capable of being tailored to the technological needs of the park for the next 25 years.
To protect IMG Worlds of Adventure’s internal software security, Cisco has provided the latest, state-of-the-art unified communications platform. This technology, which is the first Cisco integrated system showcased in the Middle East, houses and protects all of the mission critical applications, such as the customer relations system and the ticketing machines, guaranteeing that they work efficiently and that the data they hold is safeguarded.
Customer satisfaction and safety is of paramount importance and so IMG Worlds of Adventure has installed the Schneider Electric Pelco VideoXpert system to deliver best-in-class video cameras. These cameras were chosen as they offer the most reliable round-the-clock surveillance with long range monitoring, detection and identification on the best HD quality images.
“At IMG Worlds of Adventure, offering our visitors the most unforgettable, interactive and immersive experience possible is of utmost importance. We are proud to partner with both local and international technology leaders to deploy the latest state-of-the-art telecommunications and Audio Video to ensure the effective and safe running of our theme park,“ said Lennard Otto, General Manager.
